This novella centers two queer, nonbinary, and neurodivergent characters in a "One Night Stand with a promise to see each other" Happily For Now ending. The full work will be released this spring with a stronger Happily Ever After.
Ananas is the POV character, who is white, fat, bisexual, and genderqueer (xe/xir/xirs).
Xe has been diagnosed with ADHD, Prosopagnosia (face blindness) and synesthesia. Xe also has undiagnosed Oppositional Defiant Disorder, disorganized attachment, and PTSD that shape xir understanding of xir neurodivergence.
Xe has had some medical intervention in their transition, such as top surgery and a hysterectomy. Ananas uses the words pussy, chest, and tiddies to describe xir anatomy.
Kai is the love interest, who is Black, queer, nonbinary (they/them/theirs, but accepts he/him/his from people they don’t know well) with autism, including sensory processing issues.
They are not interested in medically transitioning. Kai uses the words dick and chest to describe their anatomy.
Kai is not out widely to their extended social network, just close friends, so is called by their full government name (instead of their preferred shorter version of their name) and masculine pronouns by some side characters (and at times, Ananas).
Open door content - explicit and detailed sex between two trans nonbinary characters, including some power play dynamics, oral sex/face sitting, and PIV sex.
While the scene is consent-centered, they do not follow ideal safe sex practices.
Codependent family dynamics - Due to their mother’s neglect and abandonment when they were young, Ananas and xir sister have some emotional regulation and attachment issues that result in a mutually supportive if somewhat codependent relationship.
Their mom sucks, and does not make an appearance in this early release of the novella.
Ableism - Both Ananas and Kai are neurodivergent, and some well-meaning loved ones treat them as less capable of navigating social situations.
This work contains some pop culture references that are not intended to be an endorsement by the author of any artists, shows, or other media named.
